The Borrowfield Way

Ready, Respectful and Safe

BorrowfieldWaythumbnail_Outlook-uemosljk.png

Borrowfield is an open, fun and friendly school. We care about other people and their feelings. We look after each other to make sure that we are happy and healthy, and our school is a safe place to be. We take pride in our school and try our best to keep our playground clean and tidy.

We like to learn and we work with our teachers, staff, each other and our families to achieve more. Learning is fun and encourages us to be the best that we can be. We enjoy challenges and believe that when we work as a team - Together Everyone Achieves More.

We show respect and patience to each other and to staff and learn to take responsibility for our choices. We are part of the wider community and are involved in clubs both in school and out of school.

Head Teacher’s Welcome

It is a real pleasure and an absolute privilege to be the fourth Head Teacher at Borrowfield Primary School since the school opened in 1977.  Here at Borrowfield we are proud of our school and our community.  We have high expectations and a growth mindset to help us achieve our potential.

We have excellent links with the community and use this to help us with our learning and skills to develop as a young workforce.  Our open door policy fosters our good relationship with parents and carers, we are open and transparent in what we do and value pupil and parent/carer voice in all school development.  We pride ourselves in good transition between nursery and P1, as well as from P7 to S1.  All the cluster schools have excellent relations with Montrose Academy.

Our committed and caring staff are passionate in their responsibility of delivering excellent teaching and learning.  It is our aim to nurture the talents of children in all areas of the curriculum as we recognise each child is unique and may learn in a different way.  Our school environment and strategies reflect the lengths we go to in order to meet the needs of all our children. We celebrate success of all achievement and continually challenge our children, in order for them to be all that they can be and to be Ready, Respectful and Safe.  Learning is meaningful and within context.

We value and look after our environment, immediate and beyond.  Visitors to the school can see a place that is continually developing and creatively providing a context for learning and play. Being a nurturing school is a priority and this session sees us focusing on outdoor learning and digital learning too.

I hope you find this website informative and useful, however please do not hesitate to get in touch if there are any unanswered questions you may have.  Please arrange a visit if you would like to look around the school and nursery, to get a true flavour of the exciting learning going on.
